What we collect and what we do not
This page sets out Manivora Editions‘s handling of personal data, governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Personal data collected
An order needs a name, an address, a phone number and an email, and that is what we ask for. Accounts additionally keep order history.
No card numbers, UPI PINs or bank credentials are collected — UPI is authorised in your own banking app and those details never touch this site.
How data is used
Your data is used to:
- process and pack your order
- arrange delivery and share tracking updates
- answer support messages about an order
- meet record-keeping obligations under Indian law
- detect and prevent fraudulent orders
Data sharing
The courier delivering your parcel gets your name, address and phone number — there is no way to deliver without it. Payments run through your own bank’s UPI infrastructure. We sell nothing, and nothing goes to advertisers or data brokers.
Legal obligation is the only other reason data leaves us.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies here keep the cart and your session alive. Blocking them in your browser is your choice, but the cart may break. There are no advertising trackers on the site.
Your data rights
You are entitled to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- ask us to erase data we no longer need for an order or a legal obligation
- withdraw consent for messages that are not about an order
Data retention
Order records are retained only for the statutory period under Indian tax and consumer law. Account data remains until removal is requested, and support email is held a short time after a case closes.
Children
Nobody under 18 should be ordering here. We collect no data from children knowingly, and delete anything we discover.
Grievance redressal
Data complaints reach our Customer Care Team, the designated grievance contact for Manivora Editions.
